Our past
The Foundry is home to the original site of the Harp Bar in Belfast. Whilst the rest of the city was embroiled in “the troubles,” this venue became a melting pot of people from all walks of life and across the divide - to meet and socialise all in the name of music.
The Rock 'N' Roll
Bands like the Outcasts, Rudi, Stiff Little Fingers and the Defects all began on stage right here.
The Present
In the 1790's, Hill Street was called "Foundry Lane" due to the presence of Foundries in the area. The Foundry pays homage to the history of it's home and recognises the distinctive location it is situated within, and we look forward to breathing new life into this historic site.
